Frankenstein's Castle

The real name for this structure is Patterson's Tower, named after a Col. Patterson. Accounts state that the tower is haunted. Different accounts of the hauntings have been detailed in our research. What we think is true however, is a group of teenagers ventured into the "castle" exploring it for ghosts. At some point, lightning struck the tower and killed all inside. For that reason it is now barred and boarded so that access is denied. Some think the teenagers haunt the tower.

We spent plenty of time around the tower taking pictures, video, and exploring the general vicinity. The picture to the right shows some orange graffiti written inside the tower, which we could not read fully. The writing was really the only noticeable marking on the tower seen from the outside.

The last few minutes we were there, a sudden storm picked up high in the hills where the tower overlooks Dayton Community Golf Course. The speed at which this storm erupted and us narrowly escaping getting drenched and electrocuted makes us believe that teens could have indeed been caught off guard and killed by lightning.
